Old traditional silver berber ring with enamel & amazigh cone
Vintage Berber ring in silver, enamel, glass gems and ancient coins in pendants. Made in Morocco in the early 20th century.
Typically worn as hair and head adornments for wedding ceremonies and also used by dancers because the coin makes a jingle. This ring’s structure also makes them a functional fighting tool when worn on the hand. Some Berber Tuareg tribes were renowned for their fighting-style jewelry, and the concept of Amazigh “beauty” is of a fierce, strong working woman.
This ring takes advantage of the belief that both the jingle of silver and the flash of light from jewelry will scare away the bad djinns, with the jingle and the brightness of the coins.
Material: Silver, Argent, Enamel, old silver coins, glass gems
Note: One glass gem missing
